Shanghai VSAT Technology Co., Ltd. was established in December 2015 and is headquartered in Shanghai - the economic center of China. It is one of the first private aerospace companies in China. The company’s business is mainly in the sections of commercial satellites design and manufacturing, as well as data service of remote sensing in China. It is a governing member of the Shanghai Astronautical Society and a Chinese high-tech enterprise.

At present, the company has formed a fully functional R&D (research and development) talent team, with a number of aerospace leading talents from the national top institutes and universities. The Chief Scientist Jianyu WANG is an academician of the CAS (Chinese Academy of Sciences), the former president of the Shanghai Branch of CAS and the commander-in-chief of Quantum Science Experimental Satellite “Micius”; the company’s CTO, Dr. Xuemin SHEN, once served as the director of the Shanghai Microsatellite Engineering Center of CAS. Many team members have participated in major national satellite projects such as Beidou, Fengyun, and Mars probes.

In terms of market, VSAT Technology has been in China’s forest and grass fire prevention market for many years and has reached a strategic cooperation agreement with the State Grid Corporation of China to provide forest fire detection and forecasting services for the State Grid nationwide in the future.
